MD Pharmacology

Zydus Medical College & Hospital, Dahod, offers MD Pharmacology with 5 sanctioned seats. The program is a three-year postgraduate degree that develops a deep understanding of pharmacological principles, including experimental pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, rational drug usage, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and safety profiles. Students undergo both theoretical instruction and practical training—animal models or in vitro studies for experimental pharmacology, clinical case exposure, drug interaction studies, adverse drug reaction monitoring, and possibly hospital visits for bedside tutorials. The department is staffed by permanent faculty, including a Professor & HOD withan MD in Pharmacology, ensuring academic supervision and mentoring. The curriculum follows NMC norms. It is designed to produce specialists capable of working in teaching, research, hospital pharmacy regulation, pharmacovigilance, drug development, or clinical drug advisory roles. Because the college operates under a PPP model, and serves tribal/underserved populations in eastern Gujarat and neighbouring regions, there is an emphasis on relevance to local medical needs and rational therapeutics.

1. Complete an MBBS degree and an internship as per NMC requirements.
2. Appear in the NEET-PG exam in the year of admission.
3. Register for the Gujarat state PG medical counselling (Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Educational Courses – ACPPGMEC) or equivalent process.
4. Fill choices/preferences of specialities (including Pharmacology) during counselling.
5. Seats are allotted based on NEET-PG rank, reservation category, and seat availability (government quota, management quota, etc.).
6. After allotment, complete document verification.
7. Pay the required fee and report to the college by the stipulated date.
8. Undertake any orientation, then begin academic/clinical training.
