MD Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacology at Medical College, Baroda has a long history of teaching and research. The department’s faculty includes experienced teachers and researchers who guide MD students through experimental pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, prescribing and drug safety (pharmacovigilance). The department is well-equipped with facilities like a Central Animal House, labs for drug action, mechanisms, assay, etc. The students are also required to undertake a dissertation, attend seminars, journal clubs, and are exposed to drug literature, prescription audits, developmental studies, and adverse drug reaction monitoring. With 4-5 seats (as per recent intake), the competition is high. Graduates are prepared for careers in academics, prescription oversight, research, regulatory affairs, pharmaceutical industry, and public health sectors.

• MBBS degree (or equivalent) from a recognised medical college.
• Completion of compulsory internship.
• Valid score in NEET-PG.
• Meeting category-based reservation / domicile / counselling norms of Gujarat / the institute. (State Quota, etc.)
