MD Pediatrics

ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Joka, Kolkata is a government medical institution under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India), established in 2013 and affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. The MD – Paediatrics program is a 3-year postgraduate degree designed to equip medical graduates with specialized knowledge and clinical skills in child health care. Trainees gain hands-on experience diagnosing and managing pediatric conditions, promote preventive health and immunization strategies, and participate in neonatal care and adolescent health services at the affiliated ESIC Hospital. The curriculum includes clinical rotations in pediatric wards, neonatal intensive care units, outpatient departments, academic seminars, case presentations, and research under experienced faculty supervision. Graduates of this program are prepared for clinical practice, academic roles, and leadership in pediatric health settings.

1. Completed MBBS from an NMC-recognized medical college.
2. One-year rotating internship completed on or before the specified cutoff.
3. Valid NEET-PG score meeting minimum percentile (e.g., ~50th for General, relaxed for reserved categories as per MCC/NMC rules).
4. Registered with a State Medical Council or the National Medical Commission.
5. Participating in NEET-PG counselling (All India & State/ESIC quotas).
