Overview
Shridevi Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Hospital (SIMSRH), Tumakuru, is a private medical college established by the Sri Shridevi Charitable Trust to deliver comprehensive medical education and patient care. The institution offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate medical programmes with affiliation to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognition under NMC standards. MD Pediatrics is a three-year postgraduate course that trains students in child health, from newborn care to adolescent medicine. The programme integrates clinical training, didactic sessions, case discussions, and practical exposure in pediatric wards, neonatal units, OPDs, and emergency pediatric care at the neighbouring multi-specialty teaching hospital. With experienced faculty and modern training facilities, students develop skills in managing infectious diseases, immunization protocols, growth monitoring, pediatric nutrition, and critical care. The curriculum emphasises ethical practice, evidence-based medicine, communication with families, and a holistic approach to child health. Graduates are prepared for independent clinical practice, research, and academic roles in pediatrics.
