Overview

SS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (SSIMSRC), Davangere, offers the M.D. Paediatrics program with comprehensive clinical exposure and academic training. The Department of Paediatrics manages a high patient load through inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, neonatal ICUs, and emergency pediatric services. The curriculum follows National Medical Commission guidelines and emphasizes competency-based training in pediatric medicine, growth and development monitoring, immunization programs, and management of acute and chronic illnesses in children. Postgraduate students gain hands-on experience in neonatal care, pediatric emergency medicine, and preventive child health services. Academic activities such as seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, and research workshops enhance learning and critical thinking. Dissertation work is a core component of the program, promoting evidence-based practice. Graduates are well prepared for careers in pediatric care, medical education, research, and super-specialty training in pediatric subspecialties.

Eligibility

1. MBBS degree recognized by NMC
2. Completion of Compulsory Rotatory Internship
3. Permanent or provisional registration with NMC / State Medical Council
4. Must have qualified NEET-PG in the relevant admission year
5. Admission through centralized counseling as per government regulations
