MD Pediatrics

Must have a recognized MBBS degree from an NMC-approved medical college/university.

Must have completed the mandatory rotating internship before admission.

Must qualify in the national PG medical entrance examination (e.g., NEET-PG) as per NMC / RGUHS norms.

Seat allotment is via online counselling by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) — including government quota, management/NRI quota, depending on category.

The M.D. Paediatrics program at AIMSRC offers a robust three-year training under RGUHS, designed to produce competent pediatricians well-versed in child healthcare, neonatal care, and pediatric emergencies. The course combines theoretical teaching (lectures, seminars, journal clubs, CMEs) with immersive clinical training in the institute’s multi-specialty hospital — including Neonatal and Pediatric ICUs, pediatric wards, emergency child care, immunization clinics, preventive child health services, and outpatient pediatric care. Students get opportunities for hands-on exposure to a wide spectrum of pediatric conditions — from routine immunisations and growth/outcome monitoring to critical emergencies and neonatology — under supervision of experienced faculty. The institute’s infrastructure includes modern hospital facilities, advanced simulation center, diagnostic services, enabling comprehensive training in diagnostics, patient care, and critical care relevant to paediatrics. Through this program, graduates are prepared to serve in tertiary-care hospitals, pediatric clinics, neonatal units, public health immunization programs, or pursue further specialization (super-specialty / research) in child health.

1. Complete MBBS + Internship: Ensure MBBS degree from recognized college and completion of compulsory rotating internship.
2. Appear in NEET-PG (or equivalent): Register and take national PG medical entrance exam as per NMC guidelines.
3. Qualify and obtain rank: Secure a valid rank/score in NEET-PG satisfying eligibility criteria for PG admission.
4. Register for Counselling with KEA: Enrol for online counselling via Karnataka Examination Authority, for seat allocation under applicable quota (state, management/NRI).
5. Seat Allotment: Seats (6 for M.D. Paediatrics at AIMSRC) are allotted based on merit, quota, and seat availability.
6. Reporting & Document Verification: Report to AIMSRC with allotment letter and required documents (MBBS degree, internship completion certificate, NEET-PG score, identity, quota/reservation certificates if applicable).
7. Fee Payment & Admission Confirmation: Pay requisite tuition and other fees as per quota category and complete admission formalities.
8. Commence Residency/Training: Join clinical and academic schedule for MD Paediatrics as per institute’s timetable.
