MD Pathology

1. MBBS degree recognised by the National Medical Commission.
2. Completion of the one-year internship.
3. Qualified NEET-PG exam and participated in state or national counseling.
4. Seat allotted through UPDGME (state) or MCC (All India Quota) processes.

The MD – Pathology program at NIIMS is a three-year postgraduate medical course designed to build expertise in laboratory diagnostics and disease investigation. Pathology forms a crucial foundation for modern clinical diagnosis, enabling physicians to identify disease processes and guide therapeutic decisions. The curriculum combines academic coursework with extensive practical laboratory training in areas such as general pathology, systemic pathology, clinical pathology, hematology, cytopathology, histopathology, immunopathology, and molecular diagnostics. Students develop proficiency in laboratory techniques, specimen analysis, quality control, and laboratory management. Graduates are prepared to work as diagnostic pathologists, laboratory directors, consultants in clinical laboratories, or enter research and academic roles in medical institutions and diagnostic centers.

1. Qualify NEET-PG: Candidates must appear for and obtain a valid score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses (NEET-PG).
2. Register for Counseling: Complete online registration for state counseling (UPDGME) and/or MCC (All India Quota) counseling.
3. Choice Filling: Select MD – Pathology at NIIMS during online choice filling.
4. Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on NEET-PG rank, reservation category, and counseling rounds.
5. Document Verification: Verify academic and eligibility documents at the designated counseling nodal center.
6. Fee Payment & Reporting: Pay the necessary fees and report to NIIMS within the stipulated timeframe.
7. Commence Training: Begin academic sessions and clinical postings as per institute schedule.
