MD Pathology

Overview

1. The MD Pathology program at Believers Church Medical College & Hospital (BCMCH), Thiruvalla, is a structured postgraduate training program designed in accordance with National Medical Commission (NMC) and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) guidelines. The department is equipped to provide comprehensive diagnostic training in histopathology, cytopathology, hematology, clinical pathology, and transfusion medicine.
2. Residents receive hands-on exposure through routine diagnostic work, advanced laboratory techniques, interdisciplinary clinical discussions, and regular teaching sessions. The attached multi-specialty teaching hospital with more than 700 beds ensures adequate clinical material for learning and research.
3. The program emphasizes accuracy in diagnosis, laboratory quality control, ethical medical practice, and academic development. Postgraduate students actively participate in seminars, journal clubs, case discussions, audits, and research leading to dissertation submission as mandated by KUHS. On completion, graduates are well prepared for careers in diagnostic laboratories, teaching institutions, and research organizations.

Eligibility

1. MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized institution
2. Completion of compulsory rotatory internship
3. Qualified NEET-PG examination
4. Permanent Medical Registration before admission
5. Eligibility as per KUHS and Government of Kerala PG Medical Admission Rules
