MD Pathology

• Possess an MBBS degree (or equivalent) recognised by NMC.
• Completed the compulsory one-year internship.
• Must qualify in NEET-PG exam.
• Must meet the required percentile / rank in NEET-PG for the relevant category (General / Reserved etc.).

GMERS Medical College & Civil Hospital, Sola is a government medical college in Ahmedabad, known for its strong clinical exposure and substantial patient load via its attached Civil Hospital. The MD in Pathology programme is designed to train students in both the theoretical and practical dimensions of pathology: students will learn about macro- and microanatomical pathology (histopathology), cytology, haematology, including performing and interpreting lab tests, managing lab workflows, quality control, and contributing to diagnosis. The institution has modern laboratories, well-qualified faculty, and exposure to a diverse variety of pathologic specimens due to its large hospital affiliations. Over the three-year course, trainees also complete a thesis, attend journal clubs, seminars, internal assessments, and case discussions. Graduates are equipped to work as diagnostic pathologists in hospitals, diagnostic labs, academia, or pursue further specialisation or research.

• Complete MBBS degree and the compulsory internship.
• Take the NEET-PG exam and secure a valid score.
• Participate in the state PG medical counselling (for Gujarat).
• During counselling, choose “Pathology” as the speciality and GMERS Sola as the preferred college (if desired).
• Seats are allotted based on NEET-PG rank, quota/reservation, and seat availability.
• After allotment, report to the college with original documents (MBBS degree, internship certificate, NEET-PG scorecard, registration certificate, identity proof, etc.) for verification.
• Pay required fees and complete admission formalities.
• Join the academic schedule, complete orientation, and start the MD Pathology programme.
