MD General Surgery

• Must hold an MBBS degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Must have completed the one-year compulsory internship.
• Must have valid registration (provisional or permanent) with the Medical Council / State Medical Council / NMC.
• Must qualify in the NEET PG examination and meet the required percentile/rank cut-off (varies by category).

The MS General Surgery program at Adesh Medical College & Hospital offers comprehensive training in surgical science, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on operative experience. The department has multiple surgical units, modern operating theatres, and intensive care support, allowing residents to gain experience in both elective and emergency surgery. Faculty includes experienced general surgeons with many years of clinical and teaching experience. The program emphasises modern surgical techniques, including open and laparoscopic surgeries. It also includes exposure to post-operative patient care, surgical decision-making, management of surgical complications, academic duties such as seminars, journal clubs, research, and departmental teachings. The course adheres to NMC guidelines and the curriculum set by the affiliating university; graduates are eligible for practice or further specialisation.

1. Complete MBBS + compulsory one-year rotating internship and get registration.
2. Appear for the NEET PG exam and obtain a valid score.
3. Check the cut-off/percentile/rank required for MS General Surgery for your category.
4. Participate in PG counselling (state or national as per rules) where MS seats are allocated. Adesh General Surgery seats are part of the counselling process.
5. After seat allotment, undergo document verification (MBBS certificate, internship certificate, registration certificate, NEET PG rank card, etc.).
6. Pay the required fees and enroll.
7. Join the course; orientation; begin clinical rotations, postings in different surgical units, ward duties, OT work, emergency surgeries, etc.
