MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized institution
Completion of Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI)
Qualified NEET-PG examination
Permanent medical registration at the time of admission
Eligibility as per KUHS and Government of Kerala PG Medical Admission Regulations

Minimum Education

The MD Emergency Medicine program at Believers Church Medical College & Hospital (BCMCH), Thiruvalla, is conducted in accordance with the regulations of the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). The department provides structured training in emergency and critical care medicine.
Residents receive extensive hands-on experience in the emergency department, trauma care units, intensive care units, and disaster management within the attached 700+ bedded multi-specialty teaching hospital. Training emphasizes rapid assessment, stabilization, resuscitation, procedural skills, and interdisciplinary coordination.
Academic activities include seminars, case presentations, journal clubs, audits, simulation-based training, and mandatory research leading to dissertation submission. On completion, graduates are well equipped to independently manage acute medical and surgical emergencies, work in critical care settings, and pursue academic or super-specialty careers.
