Overview

The MD Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy programme at Madha Medical College & Research Institute equips students with the knowledge and practical skills to manage dermatological conditions, sexually transmitted infections, and leprosy effectively. Residents are exposed to outpatient and inpatient dermatology services, procedural dermatology, phototherapy, dermatologic surgery, and leprosy control programs. The department emphasizes clinical reasoning, hands-on surgical skills, and evidence-based treatment planning. Academic activities include seminars, journal clubs, case discussions, and research projects. The curriculum follows the competency-based postgraduate guidelines prescribed by the National Medical Commission. Students gain experience in diagnosing rare skin conditions, managing acute dermatological emergencies, and implementing public health strategies for leprosy and STIs. The programme aims to develop well-rounded dermatologists with strong ethical practice, patient care abilities, and research aptitude.

Eligibility

1. Must possess a recognised MBBS degree
2. Must have completed 1-year compulsory internship on or before the counselling cut-off date
3. Must be permanently registered with NMC / State Medical Council
4. Must have qualified NEET-PG in the relevant admission year
5. Must meet eligibility norms prescribed by DGHS / State PG Medical Counselling Authority
