Medical College, Baroda (MCB) is a well-established government medical institution affiliated with Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. The MD in Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy is a 3-year full-time postgraduate program that trains residents in both medical and surgical dermatology along with venereological conditions and leprosy. The curriculum includes outpatient and inpatient clinical exposure, operation theatre (for procedures), dermatopathology labs, and associated diagnostics. Students rotate through diverse clinical settings, seeing varied skin disorders, sexually transmitted infections, cosmetic dermatology, and leprosy cases. With the large patient load at SSG Hospital attached to the college, trainees gain hands-on experience in diagnosing, managing, and performing minor surgical procedures in skin. There is also emphasis on academic work (lectures, seminars), research, ethical practices, and public health aspects (especially for leprosy). Graduates are well-prepared for roles in hospitals, clinics, academic settings, or further specialization.
