Overview
The MD Dermatology, Venereology & Leprology at AIIMS Rajkot is a postgraduate programme spanning three years that provides comprehensive training in skin, venereal diseases, and leprosy. Its curriculum combines theoretical lectures, clinical exposure, and procedural dermatology. AIIMS Rajkot’s Dermatology Department was established quite recently (OPD services started on 31 Dec 2021) and currently handles outpatient care for a variety of skin, hair, nail, and sexually transmitted infections. The institute aims to soon begin full inpatient services and expand resident/faculty strength. Because it is under AIIMS, the infrastructure, academic rigour, and regulatory oversight are per national standards; students also benefit from exposure to teledermatology and the public health aspects of skin and leprosy disease. Graduates are expected to practice dermatology in clinical settings, maybe do teaching or research or subspecialties in the future.

Eligibility
- Possess an MBBS degree (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of the one-year compulsory internship before joining.
- Valid score in INI-CET.
- Must meet minimum marks in MBBS as per category norms. (Often ~ 55% for general; lower cutoff for reserved categories, as per AIIMS Rajkot’s PG eligibility)

Admission Process:
- Complete MBBS and the one-year internship.
- Apply for and appear in INI-CET, when it is announced.
- Obtain qualifying score/rank in INI-CET.
- Participate in counselling for PG seats under INI-CET, listing your preference for MD Dermatology, Venereology & Leprology at AIIMS Rajkot.
- If allotted a seat, report to the institute with required documents (MBBS degree, internship certificate, category certificate etc.), undergo medical examination and fulfill joining formalities.
- Begin academic/clinical training according to the academic calendar of AIIMS Rajkot.
