Overview

  1. AIMS Bellur, established in 1985–86, is a private medical college located in Bellur, Karnataka, under the trust of a reputed organisation. It is recognised by NMC and affiliated with Adichunchanagiri University (and historically associated with RGUHS).
  2. The MD Dermatology programme at AIMS offers advanced training in clinical dermatology, venereology, and leprosy — covering a wide spectrum of skin diseases, sexually transmitted infections, leprosy cases, dermatologic diagnostics, and treatments. The students get exposure to both outpatient and inpatient dermatology services, venereology clinics, leprosy management, diagnostic labs, and possibly procedural dermatology (depending on case load and hospital facilities).
  3. Being attached to a large teaching hospital (with reportedly over 1,000+ beds and multiple specialities) provides MD Dermatology students with substantial clinical exposure — this improves learning through hands-on patient encounters, consultations, and diagnostics across skin and sexually-transmitted disease cases.
  4. Campus offers comprehensive infrastructure — separate PG hostels, labs, teaching facilities, library, and allied hospital support — enabling a conducive environment for academic training and clinical learning.
  5. Given the rising burden of skin diseases, STIs, and demand for dermatological care, MD Dermatology from AIMS Bellur can prepare graduates for clinical practice as dermatologists, hospital-based skin & VD specialists, or further specialisation / academic / research roles in dermatology or venereology.
