1. MBBS degree recognized by NMC.

The MD – Community Medicine program at Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital & Research Institute provides advanced training in public health, preventive medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, health management, and community health planning. The department is supported by dedicated field training centers — an Urban Health Training Center at Nandhambakkam and a Rural Health Training Center at Amarambedu — where residents gain practical experience in community surveys, health program implementation, outreach activities, and primary healthcare delivery. The curriculum also includes research methodology, statistical analysis, health administration, and national health programme engagement, preparing graduates for roles as community physicians, public health trainers, researchers, and health administrators. Regular academic activities include seminars, journal clubs, community orientation programs, and participation in national health initiatives.

1. Qualify NEET-PG: Register for and appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduates (NEET-PG).
2. Result & Eligibility: Obtain a valid NEET-PG score and meet eligibility norms.
3. Counselling Registration: Enroll in counselling through MCC (15% All India Quota) or Tamil Nadu state counselling (Directorate of Medical Education).
4. Choice Filling: Select MD – Community Medicine at Sri Muthukumaran Medical College among preferred options.
5. Seat Allotment: Based on NEET rank, reservation, and seat availability, the allotment authority issues seat allotment.
6. Document Verification: Attend verification with certificates (MBBS marksheets, internship certificate, registration, identity proofs).
