MD Community Medicine

1. MBBS degree from an NMC‑recognised institute.
2. Completed one‑year internship by the specified date.
3. Qualify NEET‑PG (conducted by NTA).
4. Participate in Uttar Pradesh NEET‑PG counselling for seat allocation.
5. Medical registration (state/NMC) is generally required.

The MD – Community Medicine program at NCR Institute of Medical Sciences, Meerut, is a three‑year postgraduate medical course focused on public health, preventive medicine, and community health systems. Trainees learn to assess community health needs, plan and evaluate health programs, study epidemiology, and apply preventive strategies to control diseases at the population level. The curriculum includes principles of health promotion, environmental and occupational health, biostatistics, health policy and management, and research methodology. Residents gain experience through field visits, health camps, disease surveillance programs, and community clinics, backed by academic seminars, case studies, and research projects. The department’s experienced faculty support students in developing skills for leadership in community health, designing interventions, and contributing to national health goals. The program prepares graduates for careers in public health leadership, academic medicine, government health services, NGOs, and international health organisations.
