MD Community Medicine

1. Completed MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized medical college.
2. Mandatory internship completed (or likely to complete by the specified deadline).
3. Valid NEET-PG score with required percentile (General ~50th percentile; relaxed for reserved categories as per norms).
4. Registration with State Medical Council or National Medical Commission.
5. Participation in NEET-PG counselling (MCC All India + State/ESIC counselling as applicable).

ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Joka, Kolkata is a government medical institution under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India), established in 2013 with affiliation to West Bengal University of Health Sciences and approval from the National Medical Commission. The MD – Community Medicine program is a 3-year postgraduate degree designed to train medical graduates in public health principles, preventive medicine, epidemiology, healthcare systems management, and community health research. The curriculum emphasizes field-based learning, community health surveys, disease surveillance, health education campaigns, and multi-disciplinary collaboration with clinical and non-clinical departments. Trainees gain hands-on experience through postings with community outreach programs, primary health centres, urban health units, and national health missions, developing skills in planning and implementing public health interventions that address health challenges at local and national levels.
