The MD – Biochemistry programme at Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW), Pune is a postgraduate pre-clinical specialty offered as part of the institution’s approved PG medical programmes from the 2025 academic year onwards. The course is designed to train specialists with strong foundations in biochemical principles and their application in clinical medicine. Training includes metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids, enzymology, molecular genetics, immunochemistry, and clinical laboratory diagnostics. Postgraduate residents gain hands-on experience in advanced biochemical investigations, quality control, laboratory management, and interpretation of diagnostic reports.
