Candidate must possess a recognized BAMS degree.
Completion of compulsory rotatory internship before admission.
Must qualify AIAPGET examination.
Valid registration with State/Central Ayurvedic Medical Council.
Admission based on AIAPGET merit, counseling process, reservation norms, and seat availability.
Foreign/NRI candidates may apply as per institute guidelines.

About Course

The MD (Ayurveda) in Panchakarma at the National Institute of Ayurveda is a specialized postgraduate program dedicated to advanced Ayurvedic detoxification therapies and rejuvenation sciences. The course is designed to provide comprehensive clinical knowledge and practical expertise in classical Panchakarma procedures used for preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative healthcare.
The department focuses on detailed training in the five principal Panchakarma therapies—Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana—along with associated pre-procedural and post-procedural management techniques. Students receive extensive clinical exposure in patient assessment, therapy planning, procedural execution, and follow-up care under experienced Ayurvedic physicians.
The curriculum includes study of disease-specific Panchakarma protocols, therapeutic massage techniques, detoxification methods, Rasayana therapy, physiotherapy integration, pain management, and lifestyle-based Ayurvedic wellness practices. Scholars are also trained in understanding contraindications, complications management, and evidence-based therapeutic applications.
The institute provides hands-on clinical training through its attached Ayurvedic hospital and Panchakarma units equipped with specialized therapy rooms and modern infrastructure. Students actively participate in OPD/IPD management, clinical case discussions, seminars, workshops, research projects, and dissertation work.
