MD Anesthesiology

1. MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
2. Completion of the one-year internship before the academic session start.
3. Qualified in NEET-PG examination.
4. Seat allotted through UPDGME (Uttar Pradesh) or MCC (All India) counseling based on rank and reservation category.

The MD – Anaesthesiology program at NIIMS is a three-year postgraduate medical course that prepares doctors to become specialists in anesthetic techniques and peri-operative patient care. The curriculum emphasizes safe administration of anesthesia before, during, and after surgical procedures, pain control and management, emergency airway management, and critical care medicine. Students also gain exposure to subspecialties such as pediatric anaesthesia, cardiothoracic anaesthesiology, obstetrical anaesthesia, neuro-anaesthesia, ambulatory anaesthesia, and pain medicine. Practical training in operating theaters, intensive care units, and emergency settings helps develop procedural skills, clinical decision-making, and patient safety management. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge and clinical competence required to work as anaesthesiologists in hospitals, surgical centers, and intensive care units.

1. Qualify NEET-PG: Take and obtain a valid NEET-PG score.
2. Register for Counseling: Register for UPDGME (State) and/or MCC (All India Quota) counseling.
3. Choice Filling: Choose MD – Anaesthesiology at NIIMS during online choice filling.
4. Seat Allotment: Seat allotted based on NEET-PG rank, reservation, and counseling rounds.
5. Document Verification: Complete verification of academic, internship, and identity documents at the counseling nodal center.
6. Fee Payment & Reporting: Pay required tuition, hostel, and miscellaneous fees and report to NIIMS.
7. Commence Training: Start classes and clinical rotations per institute schedule.
