Overview
- The Department of Anaesthesiology at AIMS Bellur functions as a full-fledged unit committed to teaching, clinical care, and research in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, critical care, and pain management.
- Students enrolled in MD Anesthesiology undergo rigorous training in all aspects of anesthesia — preoperative assessment, general and regional anaesthesia, intensive care, emergency care, pain medicine, resuscitation protocols, and perioperative patient management. The department emphasizes safe anesthesia practices, critical-care medicine, pain relief, and perioperative management.
- Because AIMS Bellur is attached to a large teaching hospital (with multi-specialty services), MD Anesthesiology candidates get exposure to a variety of surgical cases, emergency procedures, ICU cases, and pain-management scenarios — offering strong clinical experience alongside theoretical learning.
- Campus facilities include well-equipped operation theatres, critical-care units, emergency and ICU infrastructure, labs for monitoring and anaesthesia support, which support hands-on training.
- Hostel accommodation for PG students ensures that trainees from different states or distant locations have access to on-campus living, which helps them focus on intensive clinical training and study.
- Overall, MD Anesthesiology at AIMS Bellur provides a structured and comprehensive program combining academic learning, clinical exposure, and research orientation — preparing graduates to work as anesthesiologists in hospitals, critical-care units, emergency services, or pursue further specialization.
