MD Anatomy

Overview

The MD – Anatomy programme at Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW), Pune is a postgraduate pre-clinical specialty offered as part of the institution’s approved PG medical programmes from the 2025 academic year onwards. The course is designed to develop academic and research-oriented anatomists with strong teaching and analytical skills. Training includes in-depth study of gross anatomy, microscopic anatomy, developmental anatomy, and neuroanatomy, supported by cadaveric dissection, museum preparation, histology labs, and modern teaching aids. Postgraduate residents actively participate in undergraduate teaching, seminars, journal clubs, curriculum planning, and research activities. Emphasis is placed on medical education techniques, ethical practices, and interdisciplinary integration, preparing graduates for careers in medical teaching, research institutions, and academic leadership roles.

Eligibility

1. MBBS degree recognised by the National Medical Commission
2. Permanent or provisional registration with State Medical Council / National Medical Council
3. Qualified NEET-PG examination with a valid rank
4. Eligibility as per MCC (DGHS) counselling rules for deemed universities
5. Fulfilment of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) admission norms
6. Medical fitness as prescribed by the institute

Minimum Education
