MD Anatomy

Overview

Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur is a government-run medical college with a well-established department of Anatomy. The MD Anatomy program offers in-depth training in human anatomy including cadaver dissection, microscopic anatomy (histology), embryology, neuroanatomy, and correlating anatomical knowledge to clinical and surgical practice. Students engage in both teaching (for undergraduate MBBS students) and research activities, including seminars, journal clubs, thesis work. The infrastructure includes dissection halls, specimen museums, histology labs, and equipment for microscopic analysis. Because Anatomy is a para-clinical subject, the student’s load is lab-based with less patient contact but with strong academic and research engagement. The intake is relatively limited (4 seats) which allows focused mentoring and better student-to-teacher ratio. Graduates often pursue careers in medical education, research labs, forensic departments, or further specialized anatomical/clinical work.

Eligibility

• Must have passed MBBS (or equivalent) recognised by NMC. 
• Must complete or have completed the one-year internship. 
• Must have registration (provisional or permanent) with NMC / State Medical Council. 
• Must qualify NEET PG exam (meeting required percentile / cutoff for the category).
