Overview
AJIMS, Mangalore is a well-established tertiary care teaching hospital and medical college, affiliated to RGUHS, offering a broad spectrum of courses including super-specialty training. The Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery includes experienced faculty (Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Residents) dedicated to comprehensive surgical training. The M.Ch program provides exposure to reconstructive surgery, trauma and burn management, microsurgical techniques, cosmetic and aesthetic procedures, and plastic surgery emergencies — using the hospital’s advanced operation theatres and patient load. Given the hospital infrastructure, large bed strength, and multi-specialty setup, residents get wide clinical exposure across reconstructive, cosmetic, and emergency plastic surgery cases. The program combines operative training, outpatient and inpatient care, academic teaching (seminars, case conferences, journal clubs), and research, preparing graduates for independent practice, consultation roles, or further sub-specialization. The campus life, hostel facilities, and institutional support at AJIMS aim to provide a complete environment for focused super-specialty surgical training.
