The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (M.Sc. SLP) is a postgraduate programme designed to build advanced competency in the field of communication disorders and their rehabilitation. Through rigorous academic coursework, clinical practicum, and a research component (often including a dissertation), the programme immerses students in topics such as speech science, neurobiology of speech and language, voice and fluency disorders, language disorders (children and adults), swallowing disorders (dysphagia), and augmentative & alternative communication. Students receive supervised clinical placements in hospitals, rehabilitation centres and allied health settings to gain hands-on experience in evaluation and therapeutic management of speech, language and swallowing conditions. The degree also prepares graduates to engage in research, academic teaching roles, and leadership in multidisciplinary teams. Ethical practice, evidence-based intervention and inter-professional collaboration are emphasised, equipping graduates to serve in clinical, educational, community and policy-oriented environments across national and global settings.
