The Master of Molecular Biology at UQ is designed to deepen students’ understanding of gene structure and function, protein biology, and modern molecular techniques. The curriculum includes advanced coursework in recombinant DNA technology, genome sequencing, immunology, and bioinformatics. A significant component of the degree is a semester-long research project, which gives students practical experience in labs, working on real-world problems under expert supervision. Through this program, students develop both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills, preparing for roles in research institutes, biotech companies, pharmaceuticals, or further postgraduate research.
