Overview

Eligibility

    • Category I: Open Competition Candidates: Applicants should have completed B.Sc., in the discipline of Zoology / Botany / Life Sciences / Medical Laboratory Technology/ Microbiology / Ecology / Environmental Science / Biochemistry / Agriculture, or B.V.Sc., or M.B.B.S., or B.E., / B.Tech., degree with Biotechnology as one of the subjects. Those who are appearing for the Under-Graduate final examinations / waiting for the results of the above courses can also apply, need to produce evidence for the successful completion.
    • Category IIA: In-service (Self-supporting / Sponsored): Government employed In-service candidates with age 45 or below either in Centre or State Health Department
    • Category IIB: Foreign Nationals: The applicants under this category possessing qualification as mentioned under the Category I or the qualification for which Equivalent Certificate obtained from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi are eligible to apply.

Admission Process:

    • The Applications are invited through announcement in the prescribed format by ICMR.
    • The application submission deadline is usually in First Week of July month every year.
    • Selection of the candidates under Category I will be based on the performance in the Common Entrance Test (CET) for two-hour duration held in Cities where the above ICMR Institutes are located. There will be no negative marking. A minimum /cut-off mark is 35% in the CET.
    • Category II A: Based on the qualification, experience and oral interview and Category II B: Based on a letter of recommendation/ reference from the Head of Department/Institution, last studied, if the candidate is a student or the employer, if he/she is in service.
    • The list of candidates selected for admission will be published in the ICRM Vector Control Research Centre (VCRC) website.
      INSTRUCTIONS: 
    • The envelope containing the filled-in application form should be super-scribed as: "APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO M.Sc., PHE 2023" and should be sent by Registered / Speed Post to: The Director, ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre, Medical Complex, Indira Nagar, Puducherry 605 006.
    • Applications from Indian Nationals should be accompanied by (i) a Demand Draft to the value of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- in the case of SC/ST candidates) towards application fee, drawn in favour of "The Director, ICMR Vector Control Research Centre", payable at Puducherry.
    • Foreign Nationals can pay the application fee at the time of their admission.
