The M.Sc. in Medical Physics is a two‑year postgraduate program designed to prepare students for clinical and research roles in medical physics. Initiated in 1981 in partnership with the Cancer Institute (Adyar) and BARC Mumbai, it combines rigorous coursework in radiation physics, dosimetry, imaging, biomedical instrumentation, radiation safety, and programming with hands‑on clinical practice and project‑based learning. The department equips students to serve in oncology, radiology, nuclear medicine, and research institutions, and trains them for certification as Radiation Safety Officers (ARPB).
