Overview

The M.Sc Nursing (Community Health Nursing) at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Nursing is a two-year postgraduate programme designed to prepare nursing graduates for advanced roles in community health, public health, preventive care, and health education.

Through a curriculum aligned with RGUHS standards, students will gain in-depth understanding of community health principles, public health nursing, epidemiology, biostatistics, health education, community assessment, family and group nursing care, and programme planning & management for community-level health interventions. While DRBRAIN’s official site mentions laboratories, library and hospital attachments for clinical/practical work, the community health nursing specialization will likely emphasize outreach, field work — reflecting real-world public health responsibilities.

Given the small annual intake (5 seats per year), the programme promises a more personalized, small-group learning environment — which can enhance faculty-student interaction and practical exposure in community health settings.

On completion, graduates are equipped to function as community health specialists, public health nurses, educators, researchers, or administrators — roles in hospitals, community health centres, NGOs, public health departments, or academic settings. This aligns with the broader objective of improving public health outcomes, preventive care, and community-level healthcare delivery.
