Overview
The two-year program aims to prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as a nurse specialist, consultant, educators, administrators in a wide variety of professional setting. A nursing specialist is trained to act as a consultant in clinical practice and an educator to both nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team. Clinical management and leadership, utilizing evidence based practice to ensure the attainment of excellence in patient care etc. come under the broad sphere relating to the duties of a specialist nurse. Ensuring patient safety is a distinct element of providing quality care that needs to be integrated into all levels of health care delivery systems.

Eligibility
- The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with any State Nursing Council.
- The candidate should have passed B.Sc Nursing or B.Sc Hons. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks from an Institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
- Candidates should be medically fit.
- With one year of work experience after registration with state nursing council. For candidates with Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, one year experience before or after Post Basic B.Sc Nursing will be considered.
- NRIs and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) who qualify from foreign universities will have to produce an Equivalence certificate from Indian Nursing Council.
