Overview

Tissue engineering is the development and manipulation of laboratory-grown molecules, cells, tissues or organs to replace or support the function of defective or injured body parts. Realizing the vast potential of tissue engineering and other techniques, Chettinad Hospital & Research Institute has introduced an innovative M.Sc. program in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (TERM). With the exposure in the field of TERM in the last decade, this Program becomes an essential wing of study related to Medical Biology and nanomedicine.

Outcome: This program covers cell and tissue biology, stem cell technology, bionanotechnology, drug delivery, engineering methods and design, and recent trends in regenerative medicine. Students are trained to design, fabricate, and functionally assess tissue engineering systems. Students can eventually apply their knowledge in the field of regeneration, repair and replacement of damaged and injured tissues.
