MSc Mental Health Nursing

Students must have completed Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a college or university recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. It is mandatory for the candidates to secure minimum 55% marks in their Bachelor's level degree.

The course will make students proficient in developing capability and in depth understanding in the field of Psychiatric Nursing. It will help students to appreciate the trends and issues in the field of psychiatrics & psychiatric nursing. Students undertaking this course will be able to describe the concepts of psychobiology in mental disorders and its implications for psychiatric nursing, demonstrate therapeutic communications skills in all interactions, promote self-esteem of clients, others and self, etc. Students can further advance their expertise through research and/or build careers in education / healthcare industry etc. There is a counseling cell of the institute which helps students receiving comprehensive outpatient care for a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, crisis management, transitional issues, grief and grieving.
