Overview

Medical surgical nursing is a specialized branch of nursing that involves the nursing care of adult patients whose conditions or disorders are treated medically, surgically, and pharmacologically. To manage the complex disease conditions of adults with acute illness complicated by co morbidities, the nurse need to have an expertise. The entire focus of medical surgical nursing is thus holistic in nature and requires a broad knowledge of base that spans adult health. The Medical surgical nurses are vital professionals who provide care o adults .the broad clinical knowledge along with their skills making them extra ordinary professionals. Their capability to efficiently organize care for patients suffering from complex disorders makes them an invaluable part of the health care team. They have the superb ability to synthesize the patient information and implement individualized patient care interventions, thus making them to pivot of health care organizations.

Eligibility

The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks and the studied institution should be recognized by INC, one year prior teaching experience after issue of provisional certificate and from the date of registration in any of the state council in the country and incase of non- tamilnadu candidates they have to produce either the provisional registration or the receipt of the acknowledgement of the provisional registration of the tamilnadu nurses and midwives council Chennai. For students after Management Quota, Candidate should undertake the common Entrance Test.
