Master of Science (MSc) in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)

Overview

M.Sc. MLT is a 2-year full-time postgraduate course which is divided into 4 semesters. This field is majorly concerned with the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of diseases by means of clinical laboratory tests. The course curriculum focuses on knowledge of hematology and laboratory proficiency. Students learn the formation of various hematology disorders including anemia. This course provides instructions about procedures in semi-conducted, automated, and blood count cells. Topics include metabolism and genetics, basic immunology, microbial morphology, cultural characteristics and theory of disease process. Medical Lab Technology professionals may work as technicians or technologists at medical laboratories. Private hospitals, government hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics having medical labs are known to recruit medical technicians. Commercial medical labs and pathology labs have also recruited these professionals. 

Eligibility

A candidate seeking admissions to the course must have passed B.Sc. MLT / BMLT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate with compulsory internship.
