After earning a postgraduate degree in physics, a candidate may attempt to pursue positions with prestigious and well-known national organisations like the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research Centre, etc. An M.Sc. in Physics is highly sought after in the industries of aerospace and defence, automobiles, information technology and software, railways, nuclear and renewable energy, oil and gas, electronics and telecommunications, and manufacturing. If teaching is your passion, you could apply to public or private universities, polytechnic schools, degree-granting institutions, engineering schools, IITs, etc. The prerequisite for becoming a lecturer at an Indian university is the UGC-NET.
