The Master of Science in Medicine (Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Development) at The University of Sydney is designed for professionals aiming to advance their expertise in the development, evaluation and regulation of therapeutic products and medical devices. It covers cutting-edge areas such as molecular therapies, novel formulations, clinical trials design and analysis, regulatory frameworks, pharmaco-vigilance, pharmaco-economics and device classification/manufacture. Students engage with industry-led teaching, regulatory professionals and case-studies of real-world product development, enabling them to critically evaluate and contribute to the commercialisation and registration processes of medicines and devices. The flexible delivery formats (including intensive/online modes) suit working professionals and the structure supports part-time study. The focus is global—students learn to navigate regulatory and market systems in Australia and internationally. Upon completion, graduates are positioned for roles in regulatory affairs, clinical trials management, product safety/quality assurance, health technology assessment and medical device or pharmaceutical industry leadership.
