Overview

    M. Pharm. Pharmacology or Master of Pharmacy in Pharmacology is a postgraduate Pharmacy course. Pharmacology is the branch of medicine and biology concerned with the study of drug action. It is a discipline wherein experimental studies to evaluate the effects of drugs were conducted. Pharmacology is an important subject in drug discovery. It deals with the research, discovery, and characterization of chemicals which show biological effects and the elucidation of cellular and organismal function in relation to these chemicals.

    It is an extensive pharmacy course dedicated to the theoretical concepts of pharmacological interventions and molecular targets underlying various body diseases. It prepares students for emerging industry trends in a global scenario, we emphasize training with advanced experimental techniques such as stem cell biology, recombinant DNA technology, gel electrophoresis, bioinformatics, statistical interpretations, etc. Students can choose diverse careers in healthcare, pharmacy, medical, etc. Students can work in Pharma market research companies, patents or clinical trials, consultancy in Pharmacy, Drug research, drug regulatory affairs, and Pharmacovigilance.

Eligibility

    As per ACPC Norms

    • The candidates must hold the graduation degree in Bachelor of Pharmacy from an institute that is recognised by PCI.
    • The candidate shall have passed B. Pharm. with minimum 55% For General Category (50% for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS candidates) at qualifying exam for M.Pharm Courses.
    • Admissions to M.Pharm is strictly based on common entrance exam PGCET or GPAT qualification.

Admission Process:

    • Admission process is done by The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat.
    • After admitting GPAT qualified candidates having valid GPAT qualifying marks, the vacant seats, if any will be filled as per merit secured in Entrance Examination.
    • The sponsored seats shall be filled as per Govt. of Gujarat Post Graduate Admission Rules, Guidelines and AICTE Guidelines.
