Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry

• B. Pharm Degree examination of an Indian university established by law in India from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India and has scored not less than 55 % of the maximum marks (aggregate of 4 years of B.Pharm.)
• Every student, selected for admission to post graduate pharmacy program in any PCI approved institution should have obtained registration with the State Pharmacy Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

The Department of Pharmacognosy is established in the year 1990. Dept of Pharmacognosy has experienced and highly qualified staff members including five Professors, one Associate Professor, and two Assistant Professors.

The department of Pharmacognosy carryout isolation and characterization of active principle of natural products. Also, perform pharmacological screening of natural products to check biological efficacy like antiurolithiatic, antidiabetic, hepatoprotective, antiarthritic, antiulcer. Currently, other effects such as isolation of anticancer drugs, and nano particles from natural agents are being investigated in many plants belonging to various families.
