Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutics

Overview

• Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with all facets of the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) into a medication able to be safely and effectively used by patients in the community. Pharmaceutics is the science of dosage form design. There are many chemicals with known pharmacological properties but a raw chemical is of no use to a patient. Pharmaceutics deals with the formulation of a pure drug substance into a dosage form. Specialisations in Pharmacy deal with specific aspects of scientific knowledge that include design, fabrication, and evaluation of drug delivery systems.
• For effective design, fabrication, and evaluation of drug delivery systems, it requires a knowledge in a number of areas such as the chemical sciences, biological sciences, and mathematics. Post Graduate programmes in pharmaceutics include academics from departments such as chemistry, materials science, engineering, biochemistry, medical science, and mathematics.

Eligibility

Passed Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy. Obtained at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.
