Overview
- Pharmaceutical Chemistry is one of the five Departments at SET’s College of Pharmacy. Our departmental staff contributes to teaching in the areas of Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery for students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- The department has the required facilities for full characterization of organic compounds and polymers. Several analytical techniques such as FTIR, GC, HPLC (Binary gradient), etc are available. The faculty members and research scholars of this department are highly qualified in designing and synthesizing new chemical entities, their characterization and pharmacological evaluation. The R & D activities are being undertaken by the financial support of ICMR, BRNS, Mumbai and CSIR sponsored research projects. The focus of the department is to synthesize antitubercular agents using computer aided drug designing with the availability of high speed computers on silicon graphics works station with Sybyl software from Tripos USA.

Eligibility
Candidate should have passed B.Pharm degree examination of RGUHS or B.Pharm examinations of any other recognized University established in India or equivalent course recognized by PCI or AICTE, and should have secured not less than 55% (aggregate of four years). For SC/ST, and Category-I, the percentage should not be less than 50%.
