Overview
- The objectives are to give the pharmacy graduates a good understanding of the special regulatory demands which govern analysis in the pharmaceutical Industry, along with a good understanding of the principles of pharmaceutical analysis, to study the application of pharmaceutical analysis with emphasis on both theory and practice, to provide the necessary supporting research methodology and demonstrate its application to practical problems and to ensure that graduates have an adequate knowledge base in pharmaceutical analysis. The course also covers the principles of formulation, chromatographic analysis, the physical methods of analysis, pharmacopoeial methods and the analysis of low level drug analytes. The optional modules are selected from pharmacological drug assay methods, spectroscopic methods of drug analysis, specialized pharmaceutical methods and the implementation of GLP/ GMP.
- Students graduating from this program can take up positions like Quality Control Manager in pharma industries or in R&D in the pharmaceutical industry, in commercial analytical laboratories, clinical research laboratories or in teaching.
