Overview
The goal of the periodontics residency program is to provide advanced education in Periodontology to highly qualified graduate dentists who are interested in a career or specialized practice, teaching and research. The program requires a minimum of three (3) academic years for completion. A high level of advanced clinical skills and completion of a curriculum broadly representative of basic and applied science is required. Original research and a dissertation in any of number of related fields are required and may be undertaken on problems relevant to Periodontics. The principles of scientific research design and evaluation are emphasized. The program devotes a considerable portion of time, to advanced basic science courses specially organized to serve as a prerequisite to the thorough understanding of the clinical problems in Periodontics. In the clinical area the student is exposed to different therapautic philosophies through independent study, demonstrations, and practice. A series of seminars and lecture courses are available in each quarter. The student can discuss with the program director his/her interest and needs and an effort will be made to tailor the program to meet such needs.

Eligibility
- Candidate must be an Indian National.
- The candidate who holds BDS degree from a dental college recognised by Dental Council of India (DCI) and who has obtained full registration either from DCI or any of the state dental council after passing final BDS examination and has completed one-year Internship.
