Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Periodontology

• MDS - Periodontology is a three-year post-graduate programme that focuses on the conditions related to the supporting structures of teeth. The programme sheds light on periodontium diseases and conditions. It equips students with the knowledge of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases like bacterial plaque, gingiva, alveolar bone loss and tooth loss.
• The curriculum of the programme encourages students to develop different methods and techniques to prevent the reoccurrence of oral diseases. It also introduces them to risk factors that contribute to a higher risk of developing gingival and periodontal diseases. This helps the aspirants to master their knowledge of prevention and treatment of the oral conditions.
• On completion of the programme, the students can find wide employment opportunities in areas including healthcare panels, hospitals, multi-speciality clinics, government & private dental institutions, etc.

Candidate must have BDS degree awarded by a university or institute in India & registered with the State Dental Council & has obtained provisional or permanent registration & has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognised dental college. In order to become eligible for counseling, candidate must have have secure 50 percentile (40 for SC/ST/OBC (including PWD of SC/ST/OBC) & 45 for UR PWD) in NEET MDS.
