Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry which is concerned with facial growth with development of dentition and occlusion it involves diagnosis, prevention, interception, and treatment of occlusal anomalies, abnormalities of dentofacial region.
Dentofacial orthopedics references to area of dentistry concerned with supervision, guidance's, and correction of growing and mature dentofacial structures including movement of teeth / correction of relationship & malformations among teeth and facial bones by application of forces, stimulation and redirection of functional forces within the craniofacial complex.

Eligibility
A candidate for admission to the MDS Course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a recognised degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) awarded by an Indian University in respect to the recognised Dental College under Section 10(2) of the Dentists Act, 1948, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India and should have obtained permanent registration with the State Dental Council. Candidates not possessing a recognized Dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India before he can be admitted to the MDS Course of any University in India.

Admission Process:
There shall be a uniform NEET for admission to the postgraduate dental courses in each academic year conducted in the manner, as prescribed by the National Board of Examination or any other authority appointed by the Central Government in this behalf. The overall superintendence, direction, and control of the NEET shall vest with the Council.
