MDS Oral Pathology and Microbiology

A candidate for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery course, must possess a recognized degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery awarded by a university or institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognized dental college.

This branch deals with the nature of oral diseases, their causes, processes and effects. It relates the clinical manifestation of oral diseases to the physiologic and anatomic changes associated with these diseases.

Syllabus:

The concept of health care counseling shall be incorporated in all relevant areas.

Applied Anatomy, Embryology, Genetics applied to dentistry, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology and Research Methodology, Oral pathology, Microbiology and Oncology, Oral Microbiology and Immunology. Laboratory techniques and Diagnosis and Oncology.

Scheme of Examinations:

Written Examination (Theory)

Paper-I: Applied Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and Research Methodology

Paper-II: Oral pathology, Microbiology and Oncology

Paper-Ill: Laboratory Techniques and Diagnosis

Paper-IV: Essay

Viva voce

There shall be a uniform NEET for admission to the post-graduate dental courses in each academic year conducted in the manner, as prescribed by the National Board of Examination or any other authority appointed by the Central Government in this behalf.
