Oral medicine is the branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and non surgical management of diseases that are localized to the oral cavity and maxillofacial region. Identification of the systemic diseases based upon their oral manifestations and management of oral aspects of medically compromised patients are also included under the scope of this department. This specialty deals with management of orofacial pain, Temporomandibular joint disorders, sleep dentistry, oral mucosal lesions, palliative dentistry to name a few. Oral and maxillofacial radiology deals with the production and interpretation of radiographic images that are used for the diagnosis and management of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral and maxillofacial region.
Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit as determined by a Competitive Entrance Test conducted by University/NEET (PG).
