A candidate for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery course, must possess a recognised degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery.
The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics is concerned with the treatment of diseases and defects of teeth, specifically the restoration of the form, function and esthetics of those hard tissues affected by dental caries, trauma, developmental disorders and regressive alterations of the teeth. It also includes cosmetic and esthetic correction of teeth. Endodontics deals with management of diseases of the pulp and peri-apical tissues through root canal treatment, endodontic surgery and other related treatments. The main objective of this department is prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sequelae of dental caries and the other defects of teeth; techniques and procedures to restore the teeth to full function and appearance in an aesthetically pleasing manner with minimal loss of the healthy tooth structure as possible.
Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit as determined by a Competitive Entrance Test conducted by University/NEET (PG).
