Orthopaedic physical therapy includes treatment of the musculoskeletal system (which is made up of the muscles and bones of the body) that has been subject to injury or trauma. This includes sprains, strains, post fracture, post-surgery and repetitive injuries. The areas of the body include the neck and back as well the extremities. A Physiotherapist who specializes in orthopedics can evaluate the condition and diagnose the issue or condition. This includes determining the appropriate movement diagnosis, creating a treatment plan, administering therapeutic care, educating the about how to manage the injury or condition to prevent further injury. Orthopaedic physical therapy is provided in outpatient clinics, hospitals, skilled medical facilities, sports facilities, gymnasiums, and in home care services.

A candidate seeking admissions to course must have passed B.Sc. (PT) / BPT / BPT through Bridge Course or through Lateral Entry with minimum 50% of marks in aggregate and minimum of 6 months of compulsory rotatory internship in Physiotherapy.
