The International Vaccine Institute (IVI) is a treaty-based international organization established in 1997. It is a not-for-profit organization, having a mission to discover, develop, and deliver safe, effective, and affordable vaccines for empowering vaccine equity, impact, and sustainability globally. The member states and network of partners across companies, foundations, universities, laboratories, and other non-profit organizations represent one of the world’s strongest multilateral coalitions committed to harnessing the unique power of vaccines to tackle poverty-associated infectious diseases and emerging global health threats. It has the skills, experience, network, and resources to work along the entire vaccine value chain from the discovery of new and improved vaccines in the laboratory to clinical development, technology transfer, epidemiological studies, large-scale vaccinations, and nearly every step in between. The IVI is headquartered in Seoul, Republic of Korea, with a Europe Regional Office in Stockholm, Sweden; an Africa Regional Office in Kigali, Rwanda; a Country Office in Vienna, Austria; and a Country and Project Office in Nairobi, Kenya. It is organized into specialized teams that work across every stage of vaccine research, development, and delivery. The expert units lead efforts in scientific discovery, clinical trials, regulatory support, epidemiology, public health, and impact assessment.
